It’s official, the 2019 Beer Marketing and Tourism Conference will happen in Boise, Idaho, March 26-28, 2019!
Thanks to the support and excitement we have received from Sarah Flick at Idaho Tourism, Taylor Williamson at the Boise Convention & Visitors Bureau, and many, many other local sponsors, we are excited to bring the BMTC west for the first time and have it hosted in an incredible beer-centric location.

Idaho Craft Beer Statistics
Breweries & Production
- 58 Idaho breweries (as of 2/2/18). 17+ breweries in/around Boise!
- 4.6 breweries per capita (10th in the U.S.).
- 71,334 barrels of craft beer produced per year (36th in the U.S. as of 2016).
- $366 million in economic impact (38th in the U.S. as of 2016).
- Since 2012, Idaho breweries have more than doubled, growing from 22 to 57 breweries, plus three out-of-state breweries finding a second home in Idaho.
Agriculture Backbone: Hops
- Idaho is the second largest hops producer in the U.S., harvesting 6,993 acres and producing 13,759,000 pounds of hops in 2017.
- Idaho hops are grown in Canyon County (nearly 75% of production) and North Idaho, the world’s largest contiguous hop farm is in Bonners Ferry.
- Top hop varieties grown in Idaho: Zeus, Cascade, Amarillo, Mosaic, Citra, Chinook.
- The popular new varietal, Idaho 7 Hop, was developed by Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder in 2015.
- With the addition of Mill 95 in Wilder, Idaho, in 2017, Idaho gained its first hop pelletizing mill, helping local producers and breweries get fresher Idaho hops and foster stronger relationships between industries.
Barley
- Idaho is the largest barley producer in the U.S., harvesting 510,000 acres and producing 48,450,000 bushels of barley in 2017.
- Idaho barley is grown throughout the state, with large concentrations of farms in North Central, South Central, Southeast and East Idaho.
Water Conservancy
Craft beer is more than 90 percent water and maintaining quality water sources is a priority. Through the Idaho Brewshed Alliance, Idaho breweries have partnered with Idaho Rivers United in a commitment to keeping our water clean to help make the best quality of beer.

Conference Hotel – The Riverside Hotel
