New in 2019, the Beer Marketing and Tourism Conference will offer a special Beer MARKETING Certificate Course prior to the conference.
This three-hour course will be held from 8:30 – 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 4 at the conference hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. The course will cover advanced marketing topics and is designed for those already working in marketing in the beer industry. Participants will receive a Certificate showing they completed the course.
Of course, to offer such a course to veteran marketers we had better have two things: excellent speakers and excellent content.
Certificate Course Speakers
Our presenters are Kevin York of Kevin York Communications, who runs his own marketing company dedicated to the craft beer industry, and Neal Stewart, VP of Marketing for Deschutes Brewery and former VP of Marketing for Dogfish Head.
Kevin has done PR, social media, and content marketing at both the strategic and tactical levels. Prior to founding his own media company, he worked at Edelman Digital and at Voce Communications, a Porter Novelli company, where he served as head of Porter Novelli’s global digital technology practice. Neal is responsible for all aspects of marketing at Deschutes, starting at the top with setting the marketing vision and strategy. Prior to working at Deschutes, Neal was the Vice President of Marketing at Dogfish Head, where he led the marketing efforts across the brewery, distillery, two restaurants, hospitality center, and hotel.
Certificate Course Content
Half of the entire Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference is about beer marketing, so we strived to make the Beer Marketing Certificate Course unique and special. We did this in a few ways:
- We have packed the entire marketing function into one session, focusing on five aspects: Strategy, Branding, Content (or the actual marketing strategies), Analytics, and Automation. Nowhere else at the conference will you get this all-in-one beer marketing summary.
- After each area is addressed by our presenters, we will have five minutes of Reverse Q&A in which our presenters ask the audience for their experiences, ensuring we are utilizing the vast resources that will be present in the room.
- Participants will be asked to bring a specific marketing challenge with them: grow my customer base in a new age group; increase engagement among our community; etc. Five minutes of Individual Application time, in which you write down how you will use your new knowledge to address your marketing problem, will follow each of the five sections. You will walk away with the outline of a plan to address your marketing problem or goal.
- Participants will receive a Certificate in Beer Marketing upon completion of the course.
